Cylinder 2 misfire after spark plug change

Discussion Starter · #1 · May 1, 2013. After a head gasket replacement. I keep getting a misfire on cylinder 2 and 4. It has new coil plugs and wire. I also replaced the timing belt and tensioner before I replaced the head gaskets. I did make the mistake of not compression the tensioner piston back in when I had the head off the get resurfaced.I've been a mechanic for twenty years, and I've seen this lots. The car comes into the shop with a new coil fitted, customer complains of a misfire on cylinder X. I know what's happened here. The engine developed a misfire. Now it is only in gear, and I assume that is in response to the drive train being lightly jerked. The compression was taken by the dealer, actually. The car would have been warm, however.
